Step 3 Creating a Wedding Centerpiece

I allowed these vases to dry overnight.  They are now ready for the final coat to be applied.  The color being added is going to be green.  The is not any preparation today for applying the final coat.

I begin by finding out 3/4 paint brush to begin adding the final green paint.  The main thing to keep in mind is the need to paint from top to bottom, avoiding over working the paint.  Just go one direction and try to load enough paint on the brush to be able to go from top to bottom and have enough coverage.

I think it is a pretty interesting look once the final coat has been applied.  It will crackle more as the paint dries.  The crackling process begins immediately once you apply the paint.

You can tell in this picture that the paint has crackled quite nicely.

The painting part of the vases is finished.  There is still more to be done before they are actually completely finished.  I am planning to create heart charms to hang on the vases.  I also will be putting lighted branches in these.  I will be adding twine and hearts to the bases.  I plan to make some type of a wire bouquet to go around the branches and have them in the vases and on the tables for the reception.  I promise to keep posting pictures until it is finished.

Thanks for stopping by!
