What would life be if you did not have hurdles in between the good things in life? I guess it might just be way to easy to get through each day. The challenges make us tougher, I suppose.

Wedding week for my son's wedding had it hurdles, but turned out great in the end. All the hard work truly did pay off. A old concert hall was transformed into a lovely venue. It was almost as if we were viewing a play. My daughter-in-law's vision became a reality, one I hope her and Nick will cherish for the rest of their lives.

During a portion of wedding week began to deal with a sick pet, one with some age on him. As the week progressed he seem to have his own ups and downs, but by wedding day, he was a mess. We did our best to try to keep him clean and feed him bland food trying to halt his illness.

Our efforts did not payoff. On Sunday after all of our children were on their way, one on their honeymoon, the other returning back to her home. We decided to take our furry friend to the emergency pet vet. It was the beginning of a week of such emotional distress. Going from the vet thinking he had something terminal, to it really not being, but he did not seem to be responding to the treatment once he returned home.

After a lot of money spent, 24 hours a day of care, and another call to the vet, things finally seemed to turn around. I really did not think we would have him in our lives much longer. The pain that he was in was truly hard to watch. I kept wondering if I was being selfish, not wanting him to die? Randy and I would discuss putting him down, and even considered having it done at home, but I kept saying "Let's give it a little more time!".

So glad we made that decision, as I have my best friend back following me around the house. I realize that he is old, this might just been a temporary thing. I will take what time I can get and be grateful for the time we have left.

Now, it's time to get back in to the swing of things and proceed with business as usual.... Hopefully, I will be able to post more regularly with what's new in my corner of life.
