My Etsy Shop
All Wood Too

Friday, October 9, 2009

I was contacted recently by Danielle, the owner of the Etsy Shop, "Beades and Bags". She suggested that we make a trade. I normally do not participate in trades, however I thought I would take a look at her shop. I was pleasantly surprised. She sells one of my favorites things, wire rings.

Needless to say, the offer of making a trade was very tempting. The more I looked at her items, the more I talked myself in to doing it. So, I finally agree to do it and asked her what she would like from my shop, or what I could custom create for her.

After some time, she finally decided on hand painted lily water/iced tea glasses. At the time of her decision, I found myself in the midst of several large orders. Even though, I still made a little time to put together my list of items I wanted from her shop.

She patiently waited until I made my way through the mound of work I had. I finally got the opportunity to paint the glasses for her and ship them on their way. It seemed to take forever for the mail to deliver them to her. I think maybe they were being delivered by the Pony Express! Finally, they arrived and she was very happy with them. Actually, it seems she uses them quite a lot. It was pleasing to hear how much she is enjoying them.

She advised me she was in the process of making up some new rings. So, I took it upon my self to finalize my list once they were posted in her shop. Of course, looking at her shop I found many items I would love to have, but knew I needed to control my urge to shop. You know, it's kind of like Christmas in October! I love to receive items in the mail.

I gave her my final list and asked that she include an instruction booklet on how to make my own. She was gracious enough to include a few extra goodies. This was not necessary on my end, but she did it anyway. No complaints from me, mind you!

I anxiously awaited my package in the mail. Again, the mailing time seemed to take months ( Really just a few days), but seemed the Pony Express was heading back to Ohio. I felt like a kid again. I was disappointed each day when the package was not in the mail. Well, yesterday was my lucky day. I was so excited when I found my package in the mail. It was a nice end to a stressful day at the hospital with my husband. Good things do happen!

I could not wait to open it up and see my goodies. It was well worth the wait. She gave me an extra ring, beads, and ring bases to start with. Her work is just lovely and unique. I am familiar with wire rings, but never had seen any quite like her designs. They are truly different and fun to wear. I should know, as I wore 3 of the 4 rings at the same time last night. I just love to get new bling!

I would highly recommend her shop to anyone who is looking for affordable, yet quality work. Her items will make wonderful gifts for the upcoming holidays, or just to treat yourself. Come on, you know you deserve it!
